Transformation of the Day: Megan lost 90 pounds. After she began to experience health issues in her twenties, she knew that it was time to focus on becoming the healthiest version of herself. She worked out at home, found healthier options for the foods she loved, and developed the discipline necessary to reach her goals.

What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was a healthy lifestyle. I was experiencing health issues, and I’m only in my twenties (I’m 27 years old). Also, I was unhappy with how I looked in clothes. So my motivation was to be a healthier version of myself.

How did you change your eating habits?
Living in the South, I loved sweet tea and French fries. Those were my vices. I slowly started eliminating French fries and sugary drinks. Then I started swapping unhealthy foods for healthier options. Generally, I just try to eat proteins, healthy carbs, and veggies. I also try to eat in moderation.

What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I work out five days a week. I love Trap Cardio, TaeBo, and Walk at Home videos. I primarily work out at home. Some days I go to the gym, and I love using the treadmill when I do.

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight is 260 pounds, and I’m currently between 172 to 170 pounds.

What is your height?
I’m 5’9″.

When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started in September 2020, and I’m still active today. I will be active for the rest of my life. So It’s an ongoing journey. This weight loss to fitness/wellness journey has become a lifestyle.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I didn’t have surgery.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned that motivation is not the key to weight loss. You have to have discipline and drive. You are not going to want to work out and eat right every day, but that’s when your discipline kicks in.

What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Stay disciplined and remember why you started. Also, don’t look at someone’s Day 300 and compare it to your Day 1. We all have to start somewhere.
