Chocolate Valentine’s Day Recipes You’ll Love | Tone It Up

Happy (early) Valentine’s Day beautiful 💗  Because we love you, we’re sharing three of our favorite decadent and healthy chocolate treats. These are SO delicious, and they’re all made with whole foods, natural sugars, and gluten-free, clean Tone It Up Protein.

Chocolate Protein Donuts Recipe

Makes 12 donuts (serving size is 1 donut)

INGREDIENTS: 

  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Tone It Up Protein
  • 1/2 cup almond meal⁣ 
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda⁣ 
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder⁣ 
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder⁣ 
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup⁣ 
  • 2 Tbsp. coconut oil⁣ 
  • 1/4 cup egg whites
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk⁣ 
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt⁣ 
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)⁣ 
  • Coconut oil spray

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. 
2. In a bowl, combine all dry ingredients and stir to combine.
3. Add the wet ingredients and optional dark chocolate chips to the bowl and mix until combined. 
4. Spray donut tin with coconut oil and scoop batter into each one. 
5. Bake for 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. 
6. Choose your fave of these optional toppings!

    TOPPINGS: 

    • Coconut glaze: 1 Tbsp. melted coconut oil + 2 Tbsp. organic powdered sugar 
    • Pomegranate glaze: 2 Tbsp. organic powdered sugar + 1 Tbsp. pomegranate powder + 2 Tbsp. almond milk⁣
    • Matcha glaze: 1 cup unsweetened almond or coconut yogurt + 1 tsp. matcha
    • Melted peanut butter or almond butter drizzle
    • Melted dark chocolate drizzle
    • Dark chocolate chips
    • Cinnamon sprinkled on top 
    • Sprinkles 

     

    Chocolate Berry Muffin Recipe (aka Stud Muffins 😉)

    INGREDIENTS:

    • 1 ½ cups almond meal
    • ½ cup Vanilla Tone It Up Protein
    • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa
    • 1 tsp. baking powder
    • ¼ tsp. salt
    • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
    • 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk (from a carton)
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
    • 2 Tbsp. coconut oil, melted
    • 1 cup chopped strawberries
    • Coconut oil spray


    DIRECTIONS:
    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray muffin tins with coconut oil spray.
    2. In a bowl, combine all dry ingredients and whisk.
    3. In a separate bowl, combine all wet ingredients (except for the strawberries) and whisk to combine.
    4. Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir to combine.
    5. Gently fold in the strawberries.
    6. Pour batter into muffin tins. Bake for 25 minutes. Allow to cool before eating.


    Avocado Peanut Butter Brownie Recipe
    Makes 9 servings (serving size is 1 brownie)

    INGREDIENTS:

    • 2 avocados, mashed
    • 2 Tbsp. melted coconut oil
    • 2 eggs
    • ½ cup maple syrup
    • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
    • ¼ cup Vanilla Tone It Up Protein
    • ½ cup oat flour or almond flour
    • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa
    • ½ tsp. baking powder
    • ¼ tsp. salt
    • 2 Tbsp. peanut butter
    • Coconut oil spray


    DIRECTIONS:
    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. In a bowl, combine wet ingredients (except the peanut butter).
    3. In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients.
    4. Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients.
    5. Pour mixture into a baking pan sprayed with coconut oil spray.
    6. Top with peanut butter, with a few dollops around the entire pan. Use your knife to drag peanut butter through the mixture to create swirls.
    7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
